Engineers To Get Maximum Benefit From Project: President

A two-day international conference of engineering institutions began in Islamabad with the theme 'Engineering Education: Standardization, Challenges and Solutions'.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, President Mamnoon Hussain said present government undertook many initiatives for professional training and capacity-building.

The president said CPEC has ushered in an entire era of opportunities and even the middle east and Central Asian countries have pinned hopes on the prospects of this project.

He urged the engineers to get maximum benefit from the project by updating their knowledge and expertise.

He noted with satisfaction that Pakistan became member of Washington accord last year which is an international accreditation agreement for professional engineering academic degrees, between the bodies responsible for accreditation in signatory countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain said the government has and will continue its efforts to improve the standard of engineering education and facilities for the engineers.
