Vivid Festival Lights Up Sydney.

The Sydney Opera House was among a number of city landmarks illuminated in colour as the annual Vivid Sydney Festival opened with more than 90 light installations dotted across the city.

The iconic Opera House featured work by six Australian indigenous artists lighting up the sails in a display called 'Songlines' inspired by aboriginal dreamtime stories, with projections of birds, lizards, and aboriginal art.

Over 150 artists from 23 countries have united to create the light show, which includes a colourful paint canvas projections on the museum of contemporary art.

Customs house was creation of fantasy story book characters with lizards and dragons flying across the facade of the building, captivating onlookers.

The 23-day festival of light, music and ideas is the largest of its kind in the world.
