Iran's Breaches Of Nuclear Deal Not A Significant Non-compliance: EU

EU's foreign policy chief has said Iran's breaches of nuclear deal were not regarded as significant non-compliance, so the European Union decided not to invoke dispute mechanism.

Federica Mogherini said this while addressing at a press briefing following a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.

Since July 1, Iran has violated two restrictions in the 2015 nuclear deal, enriching uranium to 4.5 percent and threatening other signatories to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that it would further breach the deal when another 60-day ends.

The United States are drafting new sanctions on Iran while the US officials also called for a stronger position from the European Union.

However, the EU signatories to the deal considered the Iranian breaches to be not significant and can be reserved. The Europe invited Iran to reverse their steps and go back to full compliance.
