Govt. Expects Record Exports In 2019: Dawood

Pakistan’s exports are going to touch a record 27 billion dollars mark this year.

This was stated by Adviser to the Prime Minister for Commerce and Industry, Abdul Razak Dawood during a press conference in Karachi.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industry and Investment said that exports will reach an all-time high this year.

He said that despite difficulties country’s economy is improving and government is working on a strategy to increase exports.

The advisor further said that December 2018 recorded better performance than December 2017.

He said that Pakistan has acquired one billion dollar market from china for export of tea and rice.

Regarding food and agriculture group Cargill’s interest in investing 200 million dollars in Pakistan, the adviser said that the investment will be made in seed oil business.

He said that major portion of foreign exchange can be saved if farmers are helped in producing edible oil

He said government intends to take edible oil industry to new heights.
