Renowned Comedian Javed Kodu Passes Away

Veteran Stage and TV Actor Javed Kodu, known for his comic brilliance has passed away after a prolong illness.

Javed Kodu was a household name in Pakistan’s Entertainment Industry, having entertained audiences with his humor and performances for over 45 years.

He started his career in 1981 with the stage play ‘Sauday Baaz’ and went on to work in over 150 productions including Punjabi and Urdu Films, Stage Dramas, and Television Shows.

He gained popularity not only for his impeccable comic timing which became a hallmark of his on-stage persona.

Among his many celebrated works, the television drama ‘Aashiyana’ remains fondly remembered by viewers. Kodu’s contributions to both stage and screen brought joy to countless fans, and his death marks the end of an era for Pakistani comedy.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his grief over the demise.

He prayed for the high ranks of the departed soul in Jannah and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.
