Israel-Palestine War: Sixth Captive, Prisoner Swap Ahead Of Truce Deadline

Negotiations are ongoing for an extension of the truce deal between Israel and Hamas, possibly involving an extended pause in the fighting.

However, with the current truce set to expire at 7am local time, no agreement has yet been announced.

Sixteen captives were freed from Gaza yesterday.

Qatar said that 10 of the released captives were part of the existing truce deal, while four Thai citizens and two Russian-Israelis were freed separate from that deal.

The Palestinian News Agency, Wafa, is reporting that Israeli forces have surrounded the Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarem, stopping and searching ambulances and subjecting emergency workers to interrogation.

Video footage, which was published by Palestinian platforms and verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad News Agency, showed the presence of Israeli armoured vehicles in the vicinity of the hospital, as soldiers searched ambulances.
