Enjoying a feast of berries, fresh fruit and a bouquet of salad and herbs, fatou, the oldest gorilla in the world, celebrated her 66th birthday.

The edible birthday gifts were a rare treat for fatou, a resident of berlin zoo whose diet usually consists of vegetables due to the high amount of sugar in fruits.

Because of fatou's record age, surpassing the average gorilla lifespan of up to 40 years by more than two decades, she requires even more care.
