The rainy weather of early spring did not spoil fun either for two giant Pandas Ru Yi and Ding Ding living in Moscow Zoo or for the zoo visitors who came to celebrate Panda Day.

The animal curators of the zoo prepared special treats for the pandas, including colourful cake decorated with fruits. The animals, however, preferred their traditional meal of bamboo shoots.

Both pandas were given to Moscow Zoo by the Chinese President Xi Jinping at a ceremony attended by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in April 2019.

Beijing loaned pandas to Moscow for 15 years as part of a joint research project.
