Serbia Risks Isolation If Kosovo Plan Not Considered: Vucic

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia needs to consider a plan to normalise its relations with former province Kosovo.

In a late night address after an extraordinary meeting with the Serbian government, Vucic said Serbia had to take part in a dialogue on a European Union plan as otherwise "we would be at a complete political and economic loss".

Kosovo has failed to join the United Nations and its institutions due to objections from Serbia and its ally Russia.

Vucic said the plan meant Serbia could no longer block Kosovo from joining international institutions, although he said the U.N. was not among those stipulated in the plan.

He said prior to any agreement an association of Serb municipalities would have to be established in Kosovo.
