Historic CWG Gold For Pakistan C : Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem Crosses 90m Barrier In Final

Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won Gold medal in the Javelin throw of Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

Arshad Nadeem break the 24 years old Commonwealth games record with the 90.18 meter throw.

In the final of Javelin throw Arshad Nadeem take lead from the first throw.

Nadeem started the first round in fine fashion, landing his first throw at a distance of a then career-best 86.81 meter. His second throw was declared a foul, while the third hit a distance of 88 meter.

World Champion Peters Anderson throw 88.64 meter in his fifth try to snatch lead but Pakistani sensation Arshad Nadeem throw Commonwealth games record 90.18 meter in his fifth attempt to win the Gold and also break the 24 years old record.

Arshad Nadeem is the first South Asian to cross 90 meter mark.

He becomes the first Pakistani Athlete after 1966 to win Gold medal in Athletics for country.

Peters Anderson of Grenada won silver while Yego Julius of Kenya bagged Bronze medal.

Arshad Nadeem becomes the only player of South Asia to cross 90 meter mark.

This is the second gold for Pakistan in Commonwealth games 2022. Earlier, Weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt had won the Gold medal for Pakistan in 109 kilogram weightlifting with a record lift of 405kg.

Overall Pakistan won two Gold, three Silver and three Bronze medals in the Commonwealth games 2022.
