PM Chairs Civil-Military Huddle : Forum Breifed On National Security, Talks With TTP

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a top level Civil-Military huddle that reviews matters related to National Security.

The forum was breified on measures being taken to avert all internal and external threats.

It was reitterated that Pakistan has played a constructive and responsible role for peace and stability in Afghanistan and will continue to do so in future.

The forum expressed hope that the Afghan soil won't be used against Pakistan.

It said the world acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the fight against terror.

Members of the meeting were also breifed on the ongoing talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

It was told that a Committee consisting of Civil and Military representatives is engaged in the talks with TTP under the boundries of the consitution.

However, any final decision will be made within the contours of the constitution of Pakistan with the approval of the parliament.

The political leadership expressed satisfaction over the strategy and progress made in this regard so far.
