PM Chiars Federal Cabinet Meeting : Duty Exemption For 61 Items Approved

Federal Cabinet accorded approval to exempt 61 items from duty in view of covid-19 pandemic.

Briefing the newsmen in Islamabad about Federal Cabinet decisions, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Hussain said, the Cabinet approved five thousand rupees as support price for the cotton crop.

He said, the corona vaccination is underway in different cities of Pakistan but the process is very slow in Karachi and Hyderabad.

The Minister urged the Sindh government to improve its performance for overoming the corona pandemic.

The cabinet was briefed that 23 Pakistani prisoners have been repatrited to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia and many other Pakistani prisoners have come back due to his efforts.

Fawad Hussain said, the meeting was also briefed about electronic voting machines adding that the government has presented 49 recommendations for this purpose and the opposition should also do the same.

He said, the government Intends to give overseas Pakistanis their right to vote.

Chairman C.D.A. briefed the cabinet about encroachments in different sectors of Islamabad. The cabinet directed to remove all encroachments from green areas.

The Minister said, the cabinet rejected a proposal to increase the salaries of federal ministers.
