FM, Canadian Counterpart Speak On Phone : Joint Efforts To Eradicate Islamophobia Agreed
Pakistan and Canada have agreed to work together at all international forums to globally eradicate islamophobia and hate speech.
The agreement reached during a telephonic conversation between Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi and his Canadian Counterpart Mark Garnio.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed deep deep grief over the tragic incident of killing of four members of a Pakistan origin family in Canada by an extremist.
He said, targeting an innocent family on religious basis is islamophobia and called upon the international community, including Canada, to take serious steps to curb the menace.
The foreign minister noted that Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan have been drawing world attention towards growing islamphobia.
The Canadian Foreign Minister strongly condemned this tragic event on behalf of the Canadian Prime Minister and the people and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The Canadian Foreign Minister assured a comprehensive investigation into the incident and strict legal action against the responsible.
