United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that Israeli and Palestinian leaders have a responsibility beyond the restoration of calm to start a serious dialogue to address the root causes of the conflict.

The United Nations Chief said that Gaza is an integral part of the future Palestinian state and no effort should be spared to bring about real national reconciliation that ends the division.

United States President Joe Biden said the U.S. Welcomes a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza strip while also reaffirming full military support to Israel.

Biden said the us would work with the United Nations and other international organizations to “provide rapid humanitarian assistance” for the people of Gaza.

UN Middle East Peace Envoy tor Wennesland extended his deepest condolences to the victims of the violence and their loved ones. He commended Egypt for the efforts carried out.
