Myanmar Protesters Send Messages Via Balloons

Protesters in a town in southwest Myanmar floated dozens of colorful clusters of balloons laced with anti-coup messages onto the Hlaing River.

Forced to cope with heavy security within their town during the Buddhist new year's holiday, the protesters reverted to demonstrating via balloons at the river side, with messages such as "we want democracy" written across them.

According to the assistance association for political prisoners, over 700 people have been killed by security forces since coup taken on February 1.
