US Shooting Protest

Civil unrest gripped a Minneapolis suburb for a second night after the city's police chief said a fatal police shooting of a young black man appeared to result from an officer mistakenly opening fire with her gun instead of a taster during a traffic stop.

Protesters took to the streets to mourn the death of Daunte Wright. He was killed by a police officer on Sunday after being pulled over for an expired vehicle registration.

Hundreds of protesters defying a curfew clashed with police in riot gear as darkness fell outside police headquarters in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.

The exterior of a looted dollar store showed the words "no justice, no peace" spray painted on the facade.
