Australia Tour Of South Africa : Cricket South Africa 'Disappointed' Over Australia Cancellation

Cricket South Africa suffers a major blow as Australia announces to postpone their South Africa tour‚ citing rising Coronavirus infections in the country as the reason.

Cricket Australia interim CEO Nick Hockley said the decision was not taken lightly and was largely influenced by the Covid-19 situation in SA. The Australians have communicated the decision to their SA counterparts.

Cricket Australia's interim chief executive nick Hockey had said in an earlier statement that travelling from Australia to south Africa posed an unacceptable level of health and safety risk to players, support staff and the community. No dates were given on when the tour might take place.

But Cricket South Africa director of cricket Graeme smith believes the Australian concerns are unfounded, while chief Medical Officer Shuaib Manjra said the risk of covid-19 cases among the touring party would have been extremely low, given the amount of work csa had put into creating a bio secure environment.
