Japan Coronavirus

Tokyo confirmed 107 more novel Coronavirus infections the highest daily tally in two months in the city at the centre of Japan's outbreak.

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said we had 154 cases confirmed when we were under the state of emergency, so the number topped 100 for the first time in two months.

He urged citizens to stay cautious to prevent a second wave of infections.

Despite more cases in Tokyo, Japan, with about 19,000 cases and 976 deaths, has reported a lower overall rate of infection than many countries.
