U.N. Seeks Billions More Aid For Syrians Beset By War And COVID-19
The United Nations has pushed governments for nearly ten billion dollars in aid for Syria beset by war and COVID-19.
The Push was made at a virtual conference hosted by the European Union for Syria, where nine years of war has displaced millions in a humanitarian crisis.
UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen told the conference that Syrian people have experienced injury, displacement, destruction, terror on a massive scale.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borell said all countries must do more to end the suffering of the Syrian people and need a political solution to the crisis.
