PM Imran Khan Chairs Federal Cabinet Meeting

Federal Cabinet has accorded approval to amendment in enforcement of women's property rights ordinance-2019.

The cabinet met in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

The ordinance will ensure women rights of ownership and possession of property.

Chairman and Managing Director Utility Stores Corporation briefed the cabinet about performance of the corporation.

He apprised the participants about government's package worth six billion rupees for provision of relief to low-income people.

The Managing Director said, people will be provided essential commodities on comparatively low rates from open market under this package.

He briefed the cabinet that the prices of essential commodities will further be lowered in the second phase of this package.

The Managing Director Utility Stores Corporation said, a system is being procured from I.B.M. To computerize sale and purchase of commodities and to ensure transparency and targeted subsidy to the low-income people.

He further apprised that 'Ehsaas Sahulat' cards will be given to five million low-income people by 2020 for provision of essential commodities.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan, directed the Utility Stores Corporation to immediately complete procurement of essential commodities to provide relief to poor people.
