India Made Several Efforts To Stop UNSC Meeting: FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the UNSC meeting on Kashmir has negated and exposed Indian tactics to put the Kashmir issue under carpet.

Briefing newsmen in Islamabad after the UNSC meeting on Kashmir, he said it is a historic moment that the world's highest forum has specifically discussed the Kashmir issue and the prevailing grim human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.

He said this UNSC session is testimony to the fact that the international community is fully vigilant over the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Minister said a consultative meeting has been convened at foreign office in Islamabad to discuss further building blocks after this session.

He said representatives of different national institutions will participate in the meeting.

The foreign minister said India has made several efforts to stop UNSC meeting but all Indian attempts were rejected.

He said that United Nations Security Council has discussed Kashmir issue after fifty years.

Foreign Minister said the member countries have expressed concerns over human rights situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Qureshi said India has claimed Kashmir issue as internal matter but the world has acknowledged that Kashmir is not India's internal matter.

He said India has buried bilateralism through unilateral steps but the international community is closely monitoring evolving situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Minister thanked international media for reporting facts about Indian occupied Kashmir.

He said Pakistan will continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian occupied Kashmir.

Talking about the statement of Indian defence minister, foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said it is highly unfortunate and the statement reflects India's belligerent behavior.
