Pilots Set Off To Fly 1943 Spitfire Around The World

A pair of pilots have set off from West Sussex on a massive 27,000 mile journey around the world in a restored World War II Silver Spitfire plane.
Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones launched their history-making trip from Goodwood Aerodrome on Monday lunchtime.

By the time they've finished in around four months' time they will have visited thirty countries in a plane first made back in 1943 and kept in storage in a museum before being restored in 2017.

The Longest Flight is part of celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.
