Judge Arshad Malik Restrained From Work: Farogh Naseem
Law Minister Farogh Nasim says NAB Court Judge Arshad Malik has been immediately restrained from work on the recommendation of Islamabad High Court.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad along with Prime Minister's Special Assistant on Accountability Shehzad Akbar, he however, said no further action could be taken in this matter until Islamabad High Court decides former PM Nawaz Sharif's appeal against his conviction in the Al Azizia case.
The Law Minister said services of Judge Arshad Malik has been given back to the Lahore High Court.
Farogh Naseem said government stands by law and justice and no one will be allowed to tamper with or pressurize the judiciary.
Responding to questions, the Law Minister said that Sharif family cannot escape cases against them unless they produce the money trail.
He said the PTI government has not initiated these cases.
Adviser to PM on Accountability Shehzad Akbar said some mafia must be at play behind the video released by PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz.
He said that Judge Arshad Malik has stated in his statement before the acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court that he had been offered 100 million rupees as bribe by Nawaz Sharif's sons.
