Nation Celebrates Pakistan Day Today
The Nation celebrates Pakistan Day Today with a commitment to ensure progress, prosperity and a strong defence of the Country.
The day is being observed to commemorate the passage of Lahore Resolution on this Day in 1940, under which the Muslims of the Sub-Continent set the agenda of a separate Homeland for themselves.
The day dawned with thirty-one-gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one-gun salute in provincial and state capitals.
Special prayers offered in mosques after Fajr Prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country. National Flag is being hoisted on major Government Buildings.
The Traditional Military Parade is being the attribute of celebrations. The parade is being held at parade ground near Shakarparian in Islamabad where Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will be the Chief Guest.
Commander Bahrain's National Guards, Defence Minister of Azerbaijan, and Officials of Oman will also attend the Ceremony.
Chinese and Turkish Aircraft will join Pakistan Air Force in aerobatics.
Military contingents of Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka will also take part in the Parade.
