Australia Beat India By 34 Runs In 1st ODI

Australia beat India by 34 runs in the first one day international of three match series in Sydney.

Australia opting to bat first scored 288 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs.

Peter Handscomb remained top scorer with 73 runs. Usman Khawaja added 59 while Shaun Marsh scored 54 runs. Marcus Stoinis chipped in with unbeaten 47 runs.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets each.
In reply chasing 289, India scored 254 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 over's.

Despite opener Rohit Sharma's ton and ms Dhoni's fifty India fell 34 runs short of 289.

Sharma remained top scorer with 133 while Dhoni made 51 runs.

For Australia, Jhye Richardson bagged four while Jason Behrendorff and Marcus Stoinis took two wickets each.
