What Is Teletext?
Teletext
is all text system, which turns yours Television into an on-line
information monitor. It combines two of the world most powerful
technologies in the world, Television and Computer.
Teletext signal is transmitted as a part of the composite video signal,
which is normally not visible and carries digital information. At each
receiving site, the data is extracted from the television signal and
displayed on standard television. This service is available to anyone who
can receive the associated television signal and has a Teletext Decoder –
almost all new TV sets are equipped with a built-in T-decoder.
The latest development in the Teletext system is the involvement of
computer technology, the same information can be simultaneously downloaded
& displayed on Personal Computers.
The data integrity of this technology is as good as or better than
existing telephone system data lines. With Advanced Forward Error
Correction (FEC) and Cyclic Redundancy Test (CRT), performance is
significantly better than published transmission specifications for
point-to-point telephone technologies.

How can I receive PTV TEXT?
It’s very simple! Tune into PTV-1 and press the Text button from your
remote control.
The Teletext Menu will appear. Just enter the corresponding page number
mentioned against each service through the remote control.
For example, if you want to view the General information page, press 200
on your remote. Now, if you want to see the Flight Schedule enter 201.
Going back to the main index at any stage press 100.
