Indonesia Governor Election

More than seven million people headed to the polls in Jakarta to vote for the city's governor in the second round of election.

The race is tight as the contenders, Basuki Cahaya Purnama, and former education Minister Anies Baswedan are going head to head in the polls.

The election has been overshadowed by Purnama's blasphemy trial. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of insulting Islam in one of his speeches. That sparked several mass rallies by Islamist groups in the past few months, demanding for his resignation.
