USA Cherry Blossoms

The picturesque Cherry Blossoms in Washington, D.C., may bloom earlier this year due to unprecedented local weather conditions, which may disappoint prospective visitors to this annual affair.

Each year, organizers put together a festival in March to mark the expected peak of the blossoms. However, due to unseasonably warmer temperatures in February, officials say, the date this year was moved up to this week.

Many would-be spectators arranged to come by car, train and plane, but got snowed out.
The Tourism boom from the event provides a major source of revenue for the U.S. Capital.
