Gunmen Attack Afghan Education Compound
At least 10 people were killed after gunmen stormed an education department compound in Afghanistan's, sparking an hours-long battle with security forces in the latest attack in the restive region.
Governor spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said in a statement that ten people were wounded in the attack in Jalalabad city.
It is not clear how many government workers were trapped inside the building during the fierce gun-battle between security forces and militants that has now ended.
A security guard employed by the education department branch was among the dead.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the raid.
