Musharaf Case At SC
The Supreme Court has retracted a conditional permission granted to the Former President Pervez Musharraf to contest the upcoming General Election after his Lawyer Qamar Afzal informed the court that the Former President will not return to the country Today.
Musharraf's Lawyer informed the four member bench headed, by Cheif Justice, Justice Saqib Nisar that Musharraf will not be able to return to the Country owing to the current situation and Eid Holidays because of which the Chief Justice ordered the retraction of the interim order which would have allowed the Former President to file his Nomination Papers for the 2018 General Elections.
The Interim Order was given on an appeal by Musharraf's Lawyer against a March 2015 Court order by Sindh High Court.
The High Court had stated that Musharraf abrogated the Country’s Constitution and is an absconder.
The Court had given the interim order on the condition that Musharraf return to Pakistan and face his treason charges.
He has been promised protection by the Court from the Airport to Courtroom.
The Cheif Justice had said Yesterday that if Musharraf doesn't appear before the Court Today then a decision would be taken.
The Cheif Justice also ordered degree verification of all Lawyers who have enrolled in various Bars in the Last ten Years.
Notices of Degree Verification order have been sent to all Provincial Advocate Generals. A list of Unaffiliated and Unregistered Collages have also been ordered by the Court by the 11th of July.
The Court has also summoned the Surveyor General of Pakistan in regards to the Margalla Hill Fires and Illegal, unauthorized constructions in the Area which may have contributed to the fires and other damages.
The CJP, expressing his Anger, said the Court had given an order six months ago to remove all unauthorized constructions from the area but that order still has not been implemented.
