Peace, Stability To Ensure Economic, Social Progress: Ahsan Iqbal

Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan needed enduring peace and stability to make sustainable economic and social progress.

He inaugurated the new building of NACTA headquarters and visited different sections of the building and addressed officers of NACTA.

The minister also presided over a meeting about internal security, which was attended by Inspector General’s of provinces, Director General National Police Bureau, Commandant Frontier Corps and other high ranking officials.

The minister said the projects of safe city will be extended to other cities.

He said police and counter terrorism departments should start internship programme, adding a large number of youth, who are our asset, wanted to work in federal departments.

He added that a department of student counseling should be set up in universities.

He said security cameras should be installed at entry and exit points of motorway.

He directed that extremist and criminal elements should be strictly monitored in cyber space and on social media.

Ahsan said China Pakistan Economic Corridor route would be provided complete security and terrorism screening system would be established.

He said we should have a partnership and should take benefit of international security institutions.

We have to work for the stability of the country and the region.

The interior minister also launched an application chokas of NACTA against spread of hate.

Through the application complaints of public will be received and important information will be shared with NACTA.

While congratulating for the launch of the application, Ahsan said by using the application, people will inform about hate speech and help control extremism and terrorism.

He said officers should timely take action on the complaints of the people so that utility of the application could be maintained, adding the application will help protect Pakistan.
