Quetta Gladiators Thrash Karachi Kings By 67 Runs In Dubai

Quetta Gladiators thrashed Karachi Kings by 67 runs in the 19th match of Pakistan Super League 2018 at Dubai cricket stadium.

Earlier, Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim won the toss and sent Quetta into bat.

Batting first, Shane Watson hit unbeaten 90 as Quetta Gladiators scored 180 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 over's.

Openers Shane Watson and Asad Shafiq provide 60 runs stand to Quetta. Asad Shafiq made 16 before Shahid Afridi got his wicket.

Former England star Kevin Pietersen joined the party and shared 86 runs stand with Shane Watson for the second wicket.

Watson and Pietersen both completed their half centuries and put Quetta into commanding position.

Shane Watson remained top scorer with unbeaten 90 off 58 balls. He smashed seven sixes and five fours in his innings.

Pietersen added 52 off 34 deliveries, hitting seven boundaries and one six.

Rilee Rossouw made 13 while Anwar Ali scored six runs.

For Karachi Kings, Mohammad Amir, Usman Khan, Mohammad Irfan and Shahid Afridi took one wicket each.
In reply chasing a huge target of 181, Karachi Kings only managed to score 113 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 over's.

Karachi Kings promoted star all rounder Shahid Afridi to open with Joe Denly.

But Karachi's experiment failed and they lost both openers on just two runs.

Denly made one before Mohammad Nawaz got his wicket while Shahid Afridi also scored one after caught out off Rahat Ali.

Colin Ingram and Ravi Bopara also failed to score big runs as Karachi Kings lost four wickets for just 33 runs in seventh over.

Skipper Imad Wasim and Babar Azam showed some resistance against Quetta bowlers.

Imad Wasim remained top scorer with 35 off 31 deliveries, hitting one six and one four.

Babar Azam made 32 with the help of one six and three boundaries.

Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan made unbeaten 26.

For Quetta Gladiators, Rahat Ali and Anwar Ali bagged two wickets each. While Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Khan, Ben Laughlin and Shane Watson chipped in with one wicket each.

Shane Watson was declared man of the match on his super all-round performance.

With the win Quetta Gladiators moved up to second place on the table with eight points.

Out of seven matches Quetta Gladiators win four while lose three matches.

Karachi Kings slips to fourth place with seven points in six matches. Multan sultans still lead the table with nine points while Islamabad United are at third.

Peshawar Zalmi are at fifth place with six points while Lahore Qalandars are still winless after six consecutive defeat.
