Possible "Crisis In British Politics'

The European parliament's Brexit coordinator guy Verhofstadt has said in an interview to BBC that there could be "A crisis in British politics" if the UK parliament voted down a brexit deal, .

Verhofstadt said in the interview that such a defeat could lead Britain to elect a new government with a different position on Brexit and hence move the country into "an unknown territory".

He also said he would like Britain to stay part of the single market and customs union, adding that the future UK-EU relationship would need to be "broader than only trade and economies".

Asked what would happen if the entire transition process fails, Verhofstadt said the UK would automatically leave the EU on March 29, 2019 but "Without any arrangement."
