President Royal College Of Physicians Meets President
President Mamnoon Hussain has said the government is extending health facilities to the low-income group though it had been a difficult task to provide health services in a populous country like Pakistan.
In a meeting with President Royal College of Physicians Professor Derek Bell who met him along with a delegation at Aiwan-e-Sadr, he said the cooperation of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh with Pakistani Medical Colleges and universities should be increased to enhance the professional capabilities of Pakistani doctors.
He hoped that the visit of Dr Bell to Pakistan would help increase cooperation by providing Pakistan doctors with more training opportunities in the world's leading institutions.
The President said there had been very successful efforts in controlling the fatal diseases like dengue in Pakistan which had built the capacity of Pakistan's medical institutions.
He said the government had been taking numerous measures to provide low-cost health facilities to the citizens.
Mamnoon Hussain said that Punjab government has executed good projects that would yield better results.
Professor Derek Bell said his organization is pondering over the proposals of training Pakistani physicians that will be finalized soon.
