Situation In Kasur Tense And Gloomy

The situation in Kasur remains tense as angry protestor continue to demand the arrest of Zainab Ansari's killer.

Police and Punjab rangers have been deployed in the city and to ensure peace and order.

Today provincial Minister Rana Mashood and Punjab government spokesperson Malik Ahmed Khan spoke to the media at Kasur's deputy commissioner's office.

They said the head of the Cheif Minister ordered joint investigation team has been changed on the request of Zainab's father Ameen Ansari.

The jit will now be headed by Multan RPO Muhammad Idrees.

They said the JIT has reached Kasur to carry out it's investigation to find Zainab's killer. They also said that clues have been gathered through the CCTV footage and some suspects have been arrested.

They added that Cheif Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry in the straight firing incident which led to the deaths of two people during the protests and many people involved damaging public and government property during the two day protests have also been arrested.

They said they said they hope to arrest Zainab's killer soon.

The Lahore High Court has also ordered Inspector General Punjab Arif Nawaz to arrest Zainab's killer in the next 36 hours.
