U.S. India Reaffirm To Boost Defense Cooperation
U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis and India's Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have reaffirmed to deepen bilateral defense cooperation.
Addressing a joint news conference after their talks in New Delhi, James Mattis says U.S. Welcomes India's efforts to promote Afghanistan's democracy, stability and security.
He said our two countries recognize the threat that global terrorism poses to people throughout the world.
He said India and United States resolve to work together to eradicate this scourge.
Nirmala Sitharaman said India will not deploy troops in Afghanistan, but promised to boost support for a new US strategy in the war-torn country.
