NA Session: Right Of Access To Information Bill 2017 Moved
The National Assembly has been informed that the government is pursuing a vigorous campaign to create awareness on basic human rights.
Replying to a question, Minister for Human Rights Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar said the campaign's major activities include seminars and advertisements in print and electronic media.
He said target of the campaign is general public, civil society, researchers, academia, students, government functionaries and different segments of society.
The minister said that a toll -free helpline numbers, 1099 has been launched at Islamabad for legal advice and assistance.
Parliamentary Secretary for Power Azhar Qayyum Nahra told the house that load-shedding has been reduced to four hours in urban areas and five hours in rural areas.
He said zero load shedding is being observed in the industrial sector.
The house also passed the national commission on the rights of the child bill 2017. The bill was moved by Minister for Human Rights Mumtaz Ahmad Tarar.
The rights of access to information bill 2017 has also been laid before the house. The bill was moved by the Minister for Information Mariam Aurangziab.
Later the house was adjourned to meet again on tomorrow 10.30am.
