FM Kh Asif Joint Presser With Turkish FM Cavusoglu
Pakistan strongly believes in an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace initiative for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan. Pakistan firmly believes in a regional solution for the long term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusholu in Ankara.
Kh Asif said Pakistan and Turkey enjoy unparalleled brotherly relations. He said both the countries stand by and mutually support each other on all issues of mutual interest. He said Pakistan deeply value and appreciate Turkey’s consistent support for the Kashmir issue and all other muslim causes particularly its initiatives taken for the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Kh Asif said the aim of his visit was to consult the Turkish leadership regarding regional developments, particularly the new us president policy review on South Asia and Afghanistan.
Kh Asif said in depth discussions were held with his Turkish counterpart on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

Kh Asif said as immediate neighbour, a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan. He said Pakistan has made unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and had made more sacrifices in terms of human and economic losses than all the sacrifices made by all other countries combined together.
Kh Asif said Pakistan strongly regret that, despite all its sacrifices and contributions, it is being accused for others failures in Afghanistan. However, he said Pakistan strongly believes that only a political, and not a military solution can bring long-term stability in Afghanistan.
Kh Asif lauds the Turkish initiative of bringing the brotherly countries of Pakistan and Afghanistan together. He hoped that all well-wishers of Pakistan would continue to play their positive role in bringing a lasting peace in Afghanistan.
