Thai Khon Troupe Dazzles At Sydney Opera House

Traditional Thai Khon dancers marked 65 years of Australia-Thailand bilateral relations in a performance held in front of the Sydney opera house.

Khon is a Thai classical dance performed only by men, dating back hundreds of years and combining martial arts, music, and elaborate costumes. It was traditionally performed exclusively at royal functions.

Deputy Prime Minister General accompanied the dance troupe of 56 performers to Australia, where the group also staged an invite-only performance in honour of bilateral relations as well as the Thai Queen Sirikit's 84th birthday on August twelve.
