  Kiran

Model & TV Actress

Her extremely affable face and that endearing smile is the first thing that catches your attention on beholding the petite Kiran. She has by now become a permanent fixture in all our lives via the shows she is perpetually hosting besides modelling for various products. Prior to having stinted with modelling and acting this charming girl had been devoting herself to her adorable montessori students. That's right, she is a montessori teacher to the core and despite her busy showbiz schedule, she finds time to keep her students happy.

However, the girl believes in doing something new, something different all the time and so you will find her hosting a game show one day and the very next she would be striking a pose for some photographer. That then, is our cute little Kiran. Here, she shares some of her experiences with Mag4you.com.

How much do you feel for a particular brand when you are modelling for it?
More than the brand I feel for my work which is automatically associated with the brand! But by the time we end up recording I feel completely at home with that particular product and usually give it a shot myself.

What sort of a contribution can a model make towards the fashion industry?
The minimum a model can do is pose in front of the camera and the maximum, being an icon and a trend setter in collaboration with the fashion designers, she can promote and stylise the current fashion trends.

The industry has given you a lot bringing you this far. How do you think you can payback?
Do I really have to pay back? Well, I think I've always been sincere, devoted and professional with my work, which is the reason that the industry has honoured me by acknowledging my efforts. I think I've already paid back with my sincerity.

What kind of projects do you enjoy the most?
I have always enjoyed my out of station projects as you get to see a new place each time. And it also gives me an opportunity to shop till I drop!!! I have travelled a lot when hosting various television programmes and I don't have to tell you how much I love travelling.

Do you think our models have the capacity of matching the best in this business elsewhere in the world or even our neighbours India?
Definitely yes! In my opinion your nationality is never a significant aspect. What matters is your work that can make or break you. Take our models, actors and especially singers for instance they have reached a stage where foreign organisers approach them to perform in their countries.

Do you think our industry or market is big enough to give our models the opportunity to do that?
Yes! Over the years our industry has expanded to a great extent, which has opened doors for the models and you can see a constant trickle of newcomers. The industry has spread its tentacles internationally and we are now a name to be reckoned with.

Is modelling a lucrative business? What's the commercial aspect of modelling besides the fame and glamour factor?
It is a lucrative business provided you are in safe hands. And plus you should know your worth. But then again you can only make it your bread and butter to a certain extent. As the proverb goes, 'You make hay while the sun shines.' After your peak comes decline, so it's not a reliable field after all. As for the second part of the question, for me it's just the fame and glamour.

If given a chance what steps would you take to revolutionise the modelling industry?
If I really knew that I wouldn't have waited for a chance! But I think whatever steps are being taken currently are quite commendable.

Are there any agencies working on your behalf? Would you like someone to do it all for you from finding, selecting to finalising the projects?
There are hardly any proper casting agencies and casting directors, which would benefit the models. But if there are then a lot of load would be taken off from the models' shoulders.
